To learn more about Sarah, we asked her some “hard-hitting questions”
What are you listening to right now?
Harry Potter! I never read the books when I was younger, and I didn’t see the movies until I was an adult. It made me feel like I had really missed out on something magical, so I recently started listening to the audio books! On my commute to work, while I’m running errands, while I’m washing dishes — not only does the series bring fun and whimsy into my life, but it’s inspired me to go back and revisit other childhood favorites as well. I also love learning through non-fiction audiobooks and podcasts. My friends and family tease me for bringing random anecdotes into a conversation based on whatever I’m listening to that week. Unsurprisingly, I am also always looking for great documentary recommendations!
Do you have any pets?
I have two dogs; Quinn and Harper! Quinn is a white lab mix who loves sweaters and has never met a ball she didn’t like. She is the snuggle champion—one of those pups who does not realize that she might be too big to be a lap dog. I rescued her while I was living in West Texas, and she’s moved across the country with me more than once. Harper is a border collie mix, and she is a firecracker! She’s fast as a whip, very vocal, and she has to thoroughly smell everything new. Harper herds her sister and mothers around the house as practice for when we visit my in-laws, where she rounds up their chickens and goats!
Latest piece of artwork hung on your wall?
I just finished hanging up a gallery wall of canvas prints from Juliana Renee Photography of my adventure elopement in Alaska! My spouse and I are national park nerds. We've been working on visiting them all, so when it came time to tie the knot, running away to a few of Alaska’s gorgeous national parks was just the ticket. Denali National Park was absolutely beautiful in the fall! The trees were bright yellow and orange, and the mountains were newly capped with snow. Another Alaskan park we loved was Kenai Fjords National Park, where we saw wildlife like moose, bald eagles, puffins, several types of whales, sea otters, and more. We hope to return to Alaska as soon as we can.
I have always been inspired by the Mark Twain quote, “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.” - Mark Twain.
One of my personal goals is to ‘always be headed somewhere,’ meaning if I don’t have a trip that I’m looking forward to (near or far), it’s time to get out a map!
What’s your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of working in digital marketing and PR is helping companies cultivate their identity, building confidence and successfully connecting with their audience. Our world is full of so many creative avenues to facilitate that connection - from traditional print publication to the newest and coolest social media trends, and everything in between. It’s like solving a puzzle. I love it! My experience with the Anglin PR team has been so positive — this is truly an environment of diverse talent where colleagues challenge themselves and each other. Our collaborative work ensures that each client receives the best from the whole team, not just an individual.
